Live opera meets diverse cuisine with TWID’s uniquely themed dining experience

Many cultured beings about town will be accustomed to enjoying a leisurely set dinner at a sophisticated establishment before watching a stage show or an opera, but how many restaurants have endeavoured to combine the two?

Allow us to introduce TWID: A Battersea based cocktail bar and restaurant offering the next best thing to attending the opera, by bringing the art to the customers with their unique and quirkily themed dining space.

Not only will diners enjoy a vibrant selection of European themed sharing dishes, aimed at both meat-eaters and vegetarians (including an extensive, specialist range of raw, vegan desserts), but they will also be joined by live opera singers six nights a week. Standing for ‘That’s What I Do’, TWID are devoted in their pursuit to create a one-of-kind dining experience that appeals to all the senses, not just taste.

Entering the restaurant is an experience in itself; passing over the threshold of the unassuming facade before being stunned by the lavish, luxurious opera style decor, red velvet curtains, embossed golden friezes and cosy dining booths that cleverly mirror the feeling of being at the opera. Consequently, TWID provides an intimate night out for couples, but can equally offer an alternative location for large parties to enjoy something more unusual – a truly memorable environment in which to enjoy an evening out.

This is all before the opera music commences and the cocktails begin to flow: from the ‘Phantom TWID Special’ to a classic martini, there’s a sumptuous smorgasbord of extravagant beverages to suit all tastes and accompany the food on offer.

‘I feel that eating should be about more than just refuelling the body’ noted restaurateur and TWID owner, Peter Ilic – ‘We want our guests to relax and enjoy the dining experience so that they can savour our wonderfully prepared dishes and marvel at the exquisite theatrical décor of our restaurant. With stress levels at an all-time high, I feel it is more important than ever to set aside time to unwind – our live opera performances aim to achieve this.’

Tucked away in Battersea, TWID is one of London’s best hidden gems that foodie explorers and infrequent diners alike will be sure to love for its inimitable evening of entertainment and multi-sensual dining experience.
